Y.S. Sivan (PSG 2009) recently spoke as part of a plenary session at the 58th Annual Conference of the Indian Public Health Association, held January 21-24, 2014, in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The theme of this year’s conference was, “Joining Hands to Combat Social Determinants of Health.” Dr. Sivan’s session was titled “Fostering Social Science-Public Health Interface for Effective Scrutiny of Social Determinants of Health through Research and Teaching – A Social Scientist’s Perspective.” He reports that another FAIMER Fellow, Dr. Animesh Jain (PSG 2008), also spoke as part of the plenary session.
