Chitra Pai Receives a Manipal Global Excellence Award for International Academic Excellence

Congratulations to Chitra Pai (GSMC 2009), who received a Manipal Global Excellence (MaGEX) Award for international academic excellence on June 16, 2015. Originally from Mumbai, India, Dr. Pai relocated to the Caribbean in 2013, where she is currently employed by the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. “Teaching in a medical school with an innovative curriculum in line with the U.S.-based schools has been an exciting and challenging journey,” she shares. The feedback she has received from students has been very gratifying, and she has been able to contribute to the growth of the school by heading its subcommittee on Continuous Curriculum Improvement. Dr. Pai is thankful for her FAIMER fellowship experience, which she says gave her a new perspective on medical education that has, in turn, empowered her in many different ways.
