Congratulations to Noor Ahsen (PHIL 2006), who was recently awarded an Executive Endeavor Award for enhanced professional development by the Australian government. Noor will complete a one-month fellowship in March 2009 with the Medical Education department of the University of New South Wales, Sydney. The focus of her fellowship will be studying and observing different instructional methodologies, such as problem-based learning, interactive sessions, and teaching at peripheral sites as part of community-oriented medical education. These methodologies will be linked to student assessment mechanisms such as portfolio exams and OSCEs.
