Congratulations to Himanshu Pandya (CMCL 2007), who was recently appointed Head of the Postgraduate Academic Unit at Pramukhswami Medical College in Karamsad, Gujarat, India. He was also chosen as 2008 Shrimad Jesingbapa Sadguru Rotating Lecturer by the Association of Physicians of Gujarat in recognition of contributions to the field of medical education.

Throughout 2008, Dr. Pandya was an invited participant in workshops and conferences devoted to health professions education, including the following:

  • A faculty development workshop at Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, India, in June
  • International Update on "Excellence in Medical Education for the Best of Health Care to Underserved" at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, India, in September
  • National Workshop on "Teaching Learning Methods in Health Professions Education" at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, in November
  • Workshop on Evaluation Methodology at Government Medical College, Bhavnagar, in Bhavnagar, India, in November
