Former FFFP Fellow K. Ramnarayan Appointed Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University

Congratulations to K. Ramnarayan, a 1986-1987 participant in the Foreign Faculty Fellowship Program in the Basic Medical Sciences (FFFP), on his appointment on May 31, 2010, as the new Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Ramnarayan had served as the Dean of Melaka-Manipal Medical College (Manipal Campus) since its inception in 1997. Dr. Ramnarayan is a founding member of the Department of Medical Education at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and has conducted more than 300 faculty development workshops, both nationally and internationally, over the past 25 years. He also completed a Short-Term Exchange Fellowship (STEF) at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where his FFFP fellowship also took place, from October 2002 to January 2003. Dr. Ramnarayan will serve as Vice-Chancellor for a period of five years.
