Ciraj Ali Mohammed Leads Assessment Workshop in Malaysia

FAIMER Fellows from Manipal University organized a faculty development workshop on “Assessment Strategies” for medical and dental faculty, held at the Dato Padmanabhan Hall, Melaka Manipal Medical College, Melaka Campus, Malaysia, on March 16, 2013. Prof. Ciraj Ali Mohammed (CMCL 2008, PHIL 2010, IFME 2013) led the workshop with an interactive session on the “Whys and Hows of Student Assessment.” He also chaired a session on formative assessment that highlighted the importance of assessment for learning. This was followed by a group activity on peer assessment which was orchestrated by Prof. Soumendra Sahoo (CMCL 2012). Prof. Adinegara Abas (CMCL 2011) then set the groups to the task of blueprinting and standard setting. The scientific sessions concluded with a talk on simulation-based assessment techniques by Prof. Elango Sambandam (PHIL 2010).
