Dr. Fatma Alzahraa Elkhamisy (IFI 2023) is the winner of The Most Innovative Teacher of the Year, in the Times Higher Education THE Arab Awards 2024 and one of the 100 Most Inspiring Pathologists in the Pathologist Magazine Power List 2024.
Dr. Fatma Alzahraa Elkhamisy, Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of the International Students Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt, has won one of the prestigious Times Higher Education Arab Awards 2024 (THE Arab Awards 2024), as the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year, in the Arab world universities.
The win was for her work was in:
Fostering Engagement and Inclusion of Native and International Students: Innovative Teaching for Large Medical Classes. The winners were announced during a ceremony held at the University of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 5, 2024 during the Arab Universities Summit, and the award judges said they were impressed by the range of innovative teaching and assessment methods, which were benefiting students not only at Helwan University, but also much further afield, by publishing the experiences in scientific journals and presenting them at international conferences and workshops for Egyptian and international academics.
Dr. Fatma Elkhamisy has also been selected this year as one of the most inspiring pathology educators worldwide in the “Power List 2024” of the specialized international magazine: The Pathologist, UK & USA, under the category: Champions of Change, which celebrates educators and change leaders. This selection is the second time she was awarded as she was also selected by the same magazine in its “Power List 2022”, under the category: Voyage of Discovery, which celebrates educators and mentors.
